Kirsten Tiemann

Designated Paralegal & Certified Legal Coach

Kirsten is a Designated Paralegal with extensive litigation experience and a current practice focused primarily on British Columbia family law. A Certified Legal Coach and a member of the Unbundled Legal Services roster, Kirsten supports clients and counsel with focused, task-specific legal support, litigation preparation and the collaborative process.

Kirsten graduated from the University of British Columbia in 1990 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and obtained a Paralegal Diploma after the two year program at Capilano University in 1996. Since then, Kirsten has worked continuously as a paralegal, initially supporting large-scale civil litigation files with a particular emphasis on insurance defence matters. This background includes comprehensive involvement across all stages of the litigation process, including document management and organization, pleadings and court forms, disclosure preparation, trial and hearing preparation, and ongoing file coordination.

Kirsten now works primarily on family law matters, including separation and divorce, parenting and child custody issues, and proceedings involving the Child, Family, and Community Service Act (CFCSA).

Kirsten was the student representative of the BC Association of Legal Assistants (now BC Paralegal Association) and is still an active member. Previously Kirsten was also a member of the Vancouver Police Victim Services unit where she volunteered in a mobile unit aiding police officers with victim crises and information desk duties.

In her personal time, Kirsten enjoys spending time with family and friends – especially her two sons and their partners – as well as reading and spending time outdoors with her dog.

Kirsten charges at a rate of $250/hour.
